These Chocolate Easter Nests are a firm family favorite at Easter, and they’re super easy to make. As a busy mom that’s always a plus for me!
- 200g of milk chocolate
- 200g of cereal (we used bite size shredded wheat broken up, but I’ve previously used cornflakes and rice krispies) it is worth noting that if you use a lighter weight cereal such as Rice Krispies, you won’t need to use as much – so add the cereal into the chocolate a little at a time .
- Cadbury’s Mini Eggs, sprinkles, mini cream eggs – whatever you’d like to decorate your chocolate nests with.
- Cupcake cases
Line a 12 hole cupcake tray with cupcake cases (you can just lay the cases on a tray of you don’t have a cupcake tray, but it’ll be slightly more fiddly. Melt the chocolate, and then gradually add in the cereal, and stir until it’s all covered with chocolate. Scoop the chocolate covered cereal into the cupcake cases and add your toppings. Leave aside to set (you can also pop them into the fridge to speed this up). I keep mine in a container on the worktop so they aren’t too hard to eat, but they can be kept in the fridge too.
